Jenny Knipfer–Author

Writing to inspire, encourage, and enjoy

The Regal Pink: “A heady blend of magical realism, myth, and references to God’s force in the world that will involve readers in a complex, appealing rendering of Grimms original ‘The Pink’.”

Donavon’s Literary Services

In a Grove of Maples: “Dramatic character development and lavish descriptive language make Knipfer’s prose shine, and carry this emotionally stirring plot from start to finish. The storytelling is casual but unmistakably aged, and the research into this particular time period is remarkable, while the variation in narrative format keeps the story engaging throughout.”

Self-Publishing Review

Under the Weeping Willow: Under the Weeping Willow is a journey of loss and brokenness coupled with forgiveness and healing. This time-split novel captured my heart and didn’t release it until the final page. Beautiful and haunting, Robin and Enid’s story swept me to another era.

On Bur Oak Ridge: “A beautifully written portrait of the past, and dramatic historical fiction at its best. A slow-burning romance with dual narration for a fully immersive experience. This story feels archetype, unfolding with exquisite execution.”

Self-Publishing Review, five-star review

By Broken Birch Bay: “Through an intricate weaving of characters, Knipfer constructs an engaging story that doesn’t just live on the printed page, but the characters speak to your heart.”

“A perfect short historical read for the busy season. Author Jenny Knipfer delivers a warm and festive story with a twist of mystery. I adored the ambience! Readers looking for their next favorite holiday novella will not want to miss Holly’s Homecoming.

Welcome to my site! I’m so glad you’re here. Thank you for your interest in me and my writing.

I have enjoyed many creative pursuits over the years, but I find writing the most fulfilling. Writing helps me understand my world. I filled a copious amount of journals recording my faith journey for more than thirty years. I now use a digital format to record my thoughts, prayers, and stories.

In the past ten years, writing has helped me to live with the challenging disease of multiple sclerosis. My journey has been riddled with grief and the laying down of abilities I thought I would always be able to use. I’m convinced life is more about what we lay down than pick up. Good things can come out of what we deem “bad” circumstances. MS has taught me to be more resilient, more thankful, and more gracious towards myself and others. I’ve learned not to give up, to do what I can, and to cherish each day I am given.

Much to my amazement, I became a best-selling author! Take my word for it, a lot can be accomplished in small, seemingly insignificant sections of time. I have three inspirational historical fiction series: By the Light of the Moon, Sheltering Trees, and Botanical Seasons. To find our more about each, click the corresponding tabs in the menu. I’m also trying my hand at some retold fairytales. Click on the Retold Fairy Tales tab to learn more.

Most of all, I’m a daughter saved by God’s grace, strengthened by faith, and transformed by His Spirit. I trust He will fulfill in me all He’s called me to do. I hope you follow along with me as I journey down this road as an author.

Ruby Moon: “Knipfer’s characterization is stellar in this novel, and she skillfully ties in themes of faith, forgiveness, and trust. The mesh of cultures in this novel are delightful and refreshing, as is the way she carries the readers through the story in non-chronological order using different perspectives and tenses.

Harvest Moon is probably one of the best historical fiction novels I have ever read. I have come away deep in thought, feeling somewhat like I’ve had a mystical experience and one I will never forget.”
