I’m thrilled to announce that it’s release day for In a Grove of Maples, my inspirational historical novel, inspired by my grandparents and their lives as Wisconsin farmers in the late 1890’s.

As a part of the Coffeepot Book Club, let me introduce you to Clare Flynn and her newest novel, Sisters at War.

I recently read this new release by historical fiction author and friend, Kelsey Gietl. Unsettled Shores is the second book in her Hope or High Waters – War Across Waters series.

Ask people what ranks high on their list of thanks, and likely it will be family. I have a wooden plaque in my kitchen with the words “Family is Forever” on it. I love my family and am so grateful for each member.

Today I am grateful for all those who have served in the armed forces. To help celebrate, today I am featuring a novel set around the time of The Great War, Broken Lines, by author Kelsey Gietl.

A reader should get a taste of what might happen and the theme or direction the story might traverse to get to the crux of the plot from the opening lines of a novel.

Ultimately, Silver Moon is a story of forgiveness, second chances, prayer and patience.

I enjoy hearing about legends and tales from local and different cultures. I wanted to incorporating legends and tales into my novels, and since some of my characters were of Ojibwe blood, I chose that tradition as a base for the tales.

What is success? It’s a question that I’ve struggled with off and on. My creativity has circled through my life in a number of ways. Several times I pursued avenues of enterprise with both roads fizzling out at some point. I let that bother me. It hinted at failure to me, but now I recognize outside forces played a primary role in disrupting my plans.

I can hardly believe only one week remains until Silver Moon releases! It’s my hope that between the pages of my WWI historical novel readers will not only be entertained but encouraged with the idea that hope prevails, even during the hardest of times.
